The City of Rochester was looking to complete a major renovation of its Rochester Recreation Center, including upgrades to one of its rinks. The project called for new dasher boards, glass and netting, along with updated player benches, penalty and scorekeeper boxes.. Around the same time, Rink Systems had finished supplying and installing a new dasher board system at the University of Minnesota’s Ridder Arena. With the existing Gopher boards still in excellent condition, a perfect opportunity emerged to give them a second chapter in Rochester. Although the two rink layouts were not identical, the Rink Systems team developed and executed a detailed plan to disassemble the system, reface and repair components as needed, and strategically reconfigure them to fit precisely into the new space. The result was a high-quality installation that seamlessly combined safety and sustainability. A better rink, done right!
