Description
New trapezoid markings, what ice rink managers need to know.
Beginning with the 2026-27 NCAA Division I Men’s Hockey season, rinks will need to add the goalie trapezoid markings behind each net, similar to the NHL. Goalkeepers may handle the puck behind the goal line only within the trapezoid area and not in the corners. Facilities planning NCAA Division I events should budget for repainting or updating line kits during their next ice marking cycle.
- Existing NCAA line kits may need updating
- New ice installations should include trapezoid templates including kickplate inserts
- Facilities hosting Division I men’s games should plan offseason painting updates
- Division III men’s hockey will not require the trapezoid until the 2027-28 season, giving facilities additional time to prepare
LINE KIT INCLUDES:
- Four – red vinyl trapezoid lines (2″ W x 12′ L)
- Four – red kickplate inserts (8″ H x 2″ W x 1/2″ D)
- Kickplate hardware included
- We can accommodate sizes to ensure the perfect fit for your update
